Infinity Cave 0.8 - The Total Overhaul Update
This will be the biggest update Infinity Cave will ever receive in its lifetime, probably. This update changes literally everything from biomes, mobs, structures, weapons, textures, terrain generation, items, spawning system and much more. This has taken A LONG time to finish. However, I am happy to say that this is of extremely high quality and greatly fulfils my vision for this project.
General
- Biome distribution is now vastly different
- Revamped the settings menu, added mob cap as a setting.
- NEW Mushroom Gorge
- A super rare biome that spawns in the middle of Deep Dark biomes, is filled to the brim with mushrooms and introduces a lot of organic-like items, in addition to a new farmable plant.
- Molten Caves
- Is no longer "an infinite cave", rather a huge chasm with pillars, trees, flat terrain at the bottom and much nicer to traverse, and looks just about 100x better than the older molten caves. Has a new structure called the Railway.
- Sulfide Caves
- No longer looks like an organic mess, much less cluttered and has a very unique terrain generation to compliment its vibrant green color (also added much better water, including water flowing, slime blocks at edges). Also adds 3 new farmable items (INCLUDING RENEWABLE SAND!) Custom fishing loot table, chance for Enchanted Poisonous Potato.
- Limestone Grotto
- Is now rugged and eroded, a giant chamber with lakes and huge stalactites, a village may generate there. Custom fishing loot table, chance for Riptide 4 trident in the treasure loot pool.
- Amethyst Caves
- Is now spherical in cave formation, similar to Amethyst Geodes, but MUCH bigger. It is now possible to mine Amethyst Clusters to obtain Amethyst Charges which can store and release experience.
- Frozen Caves
- Is now also rugged with many pillars in all shapes and sizes, filled to the brim with ice in a giant chamber with a lot of terrain, has a new custom plant that can be used to Frostpale a bow.
- Deeprock Caverns
- Reduced the amount of blackstone in the cave.
Spawning System
Is no longer area-based like it once was, now it is tick-based, where one can prevent spawns by using spawn-preventable blocks, these are soul-based blocks e.g. soul campfire, soul torch etc.
Worldgen
Every single biome now has biome-based terrain, meaning that every biome feels very differnt, with the exception of Deep Dark and Deeprock Caverns. Caves should also generate lower in general.
Enchantments
Removed all cloaks, added new enchantments for bows, melee weapons and chestplates.
Legendary Elements
Removed all previous elements, except for Wind, which can now spawn in all biomes, all biomes now have their unique elements, will add more in the future.
Items
Essentally every biome has received a plethora of custom items, discover this as you progress through the caves.I have gone out of my way to create interesting items that differ from biome-to-biome with tons of custom textures.
Mobs
There are now many, many new mobs, and they are biome-specific, with custom abilities, AI and much more.
Loot Tables
All loot tables have been revised and updated accordingly to fit the biome better.
Advancements
New advancements have been added to compliment the new content added.
Structures
There are new structuers in every biome, except for Deeprock Caverns and Deep Dark.
Textures
Most textures have received an overhaul and almost every custom item has received its own texture, totalling to over 60+ custom item textures.
Wiki
Removed the guidebook, instead there will be a wiki on a website I have created, will add more info soon, feel free to contribute if you'd like!
Bugfixes
- Items with a cooldown could sometimes vanish and turn into a different cooldown item (duplication glitch)
- Icicle Crossbow damaging user.
