Notes

v1.3.8 WAS PULLED DUE TO A CRITIAL ISSUE!! v1.3.9 was not publically distributed in an effort to find and fix this issue. This version is primarily developed for 1.21/1.21.1, and changes are ported upwards. This means despite estensive playtesting, there is still a higher chance of bugs in 1.21.2+. Please report any you find! Horde Nights is not actively recieving new content for the time being. Fixes may be rolled if a critical bug is found, however at this time our development time is going towards other projects! When we return to active development for Horde Nights(which we wll), it will be v2.0.0!!!

Changes

  • Init v13
    • The force update of the event end time has been extended to init v12 and below, as the last update didn't properly impliment the forced update on some Minecraft versions.
  • Nerfed all creeper's speed during Lunar Events.

Fixes

  • Heavily optimized the pack.
    • The optimizations done may open up some minor compatability issues, but they are not worth an additional 50mspt on some bigger servers.
    • If there are any new compatability issues, please do not reach out to us. The devs of the conflicting pack should comply with the standards listed below.
  • Fixed some cases of the events not ending properly in older worlds on some mc versions[1.21-1.21.4]
  • Fixed error correction taking too long to work.
  • Fixed zombie horsemen not spawning during super moons & bunk blood moons.

Horde Nights v1.3.8

Additions

  • Added Horde Diffuser & Bunk form.
    • This enchantment applies to creepers(yes, even the modded ones).
  • Added a new advancement.
  • Added Husks, Drowned, Zombies, & Zombie Villagers riding zombie horses during lunar events.
    • These riders have a 1/64 chance to spawn instead of just as a walker.
    • The zombie horses will not despawn with the rest of the horde, but are not persistent, so grab em while you can.
    • The horses will have an increased health to try and prevent accidental death while fighting the horde rider.

Changes

  • Init v12
    • The event "end time" config value from init v11 or lower will be forcefully updated from here on out.
    • This is to ensure old worlds don't experience issues with mechanics updated in this version.
  • Horde Rod drop has changed:
    • The item is now part of it's own loot pool with a 1/60 drop rate.
    • The item USED to be a part of the same pool as enchantments, however this made it way rarer than intended.
  • The no-sleep system now includes festive moons again.
    • You can now bypass a festive moon by attempting to sleep 5 times.
      • Doing this does not count as surviving the night.

Fixes

  • Fixed enchantments not being properly included in the exclusive set.
  • Fixed new enchantments not dropping(smite).
  • Fixed enchantment drops not respecting the mob drop swap during bunk events.
  • Fixed enchantment drop from slimes being rarer than intended.
  • Fixed slime not being included in the mob drop swap druing bunk events.
  • Fixed stray not being included in the mob drop swap druing bunk events.
  • Fixed being able to sleep through festive moons.
  • Fixed somehow sleeping through any event causing more issues.
    • This does not fix modded compatability, however any mods that do not modify sleeping through the night should work fine.
    • If the tick is set to 1 in the morning, the night will end properly.
    • Sleeping through events that 100% block it is still an unintended compatability issue, however this should remove some jank without breaking anything else.
  • Fixed "Weird Nights" advancement in 1.21.4+

Additions

  • Added Horde Skeleton Horses
    • They have a 1/64 chance to spawn instead of a skeleton.
      • There is also a variant that spawns instead of a stray.
    • These guys do not despawn when the night is over.
    • They are affected by the Horde's size increase.
    • They have more health and a couple other minor stats than regular skeleton horses.
      • The health is mainly to help ensure you don't kill them while fighting the horde mob on top of them.
  • Added Horde "Smite" & Bunk form.

Changes

  • Init v11
  • Slightly buffed Horde "Bane of Arthropods" to be stronger than the bunk form.

Fixes

  • Fixed #11 - Primed Diamond Recipe broken in 1.21.2+

  • Added two new advancements.

  • Nerfed the damage dealt by phantoms by half.
  • Changed some item style. This will NOT break anything.
  • Updated advancement names and descriptions.
    • Some advancements are now more clear about how mechanics work.

Fixes

  • Fixed a typo causing horde mobs to not drop anything.
  • Fixed Slimes not being given custom loot tables.
  • Remove more impossible integration code for Creeper Overhaul(it still only supports 1.21/1.21.1).
    • This is to remove console spam on versions that the mod dev does not support.
  • Fixed multiple bugs with the "Weird Night" advancement.
  • Fixed Phantoms spawning in the wall.
  • Fixed Phantoms spawning outside of the overworld.
  • Mostly fixed horde sweep enchantments appearing in loot, they now have a weight of one.
    • While i cannot disable this completely at this time, the issue has been mitigated as much as possible, and gets less and less prevalent as more enchantment packs are added on top.
  • Fixed "Horde Sweep" and "Bunk Horde Sweep" books dropped from The Horde not being functional.
  • Removed extra display code from config.

  • Exp Rewards for killing mobs have been changed:
    • There is no additional exp reward for killing a mob during a festive moon now.
    • There is now an additional EXP reward for killing a mob during a bunk blood moon.
    • Increased the EXP reward for killing a mob during a super moon.
    • Nerfed the additional exp reward from zombie villagers(this is in prep for their upcoming content, making it less worth killing them).
    • Buffed the additional exp reward from killing cave spiders, spiders, bogged, & stray.
  • You can no longer earn statistic kills during festive moon events.
  • Advancement Tweaks
    • Ritual advancements are now placed behind the minecraft "obtain diamonds" advancement.

  • Ritual V3
    • Complete re-write again.
    • Fix several obscure bugs.
    • The new config options added a couple updates ago now work as intended.
    • Advancement Overhaul
      • Now has advancement for ritual preparation steps.
      • Advancement tree makes more sense progression wise.
      • Due to this overhaul, ritual advancements may have been reset for existing worlds.
    • Added New Ritual Paths for more control over summoning lunar events
      • Haunting/Infusion for a guarenteed Super Moon.
      • Groundwork for more in the future.
    • Error Messages
      • Messages are now more consistent.
      • The message for when a lunar event is already incoming is now more clear.
      • New error message for overloading your ritual space with more than one item.
  • Zombie Reinforcement chance has been reduced by half again. (25% for blood events, 50% for super events)
    • This is due to the insane lag caused on multiplayer servers. Further optimizations will be included in future updates.

Fixes

  • Fixed #10 - Items using components don't show text properly in 1.21.5.
  • Fixed the Blood Ritual not working for all but one person in multiplayer.
  • Fixed the Blood Ritual mechanics applying to all items with no explanation in one case.
  • Fixed a bunch of random potential visual bugs with the Blood Ritual.
  • Fixed outdated & conflicting advancement criteria.
    • This may result in these advancements being marked as uncomplete.
  • Fixed some mechanics bugging in some multiplayer cases.
  • Fixed dying during one night blocking you from any more.
  • Remove "modded" code for "Creeper Overhaul" in 1.21.2+(no mod support for these versions).
  • Fix "Creeper Overhaul" integration for Bunk Blood Moons & Super Moons.

  • Config Changes
    • You can now configure Natural Bunk Events to be 50% chance, or guarenteed.
      • Currently there is no 100% functionality in the TimeLib Integration, this may change.
  • Changed how Natural Bunk Events work
    • If natural bunk events are enabled, they now only have a 50% chance relative to their non-bunk counterpart.
    • For example, if your world is only currently eligible for Blood Moons, there will be a 50/50 chance of going bunk.
    • However, if you are eligible for Festive or Super Moons, since these event's cannot yet go bunk, the chance is less than 50%
    • The chance of a Bunk Blood Moon will be the same as the chance of a normal Blood Moon. 50% chance relative to non-bunk counterpart.
    • However, you can choose to have the guarenteed functionality in the config.

Fixes

  • Fixed #8 - Player can get Oozing Effect.
  • Fixed #9 - Horde Mobs will delete player's items if they pick up and despawn.
  • Fixed Natural Bunk Config Buttons doing nothing(oopps forgot code hehe).

Support for 1.21.5 is still HIGHLY experimental.

  • There will still be no mod form release, as there are still 3+ bugs I am trying to track down, and highly experimental features.

Changes

  • Changed the "Primed Diamond" recipe a shapeless recipe w/ 1 diamond & 1 redstone block.
    • It is now a shapped recipe with 1 diamond surrounded by 8 redstone.
    • Recipe unlock advancement updated accordingly.
  • Config Changes
    • Visuals Pg1
      • Start Message Type is now hidden when start messages are disabled.
    • Advanced Pg1
      • Added a toggle for both automatic timelib checks. These toggles will be hidden if the integration is disabled.
    • Advanced Pg2
      • New page, now allows the ability to change the time in ticks when the event starts and ends.
        • This setting can be used to fix a couple mod incompatabilities.
    • Gameplay Pg1
      • Added the ability to configure natural bunk events. Controlled by TimeLib by default.
    • Gameplay Pg4
      • Overhauled difficulty display message to be even more clear with colors!
      • Can no longer manually set to peaceful mode(redundant).
  • Zombified Mobs now "spawn reinforcements" mechanic has been nerfed by half during Blood Moons
    • Bunk Blood Moons & Super Moons will remain at full strngth. This is a balancing change made due to intense lag from the amount of mobs that add up.

Fixes

  • Fixed being unable to disable natural lunar events.
  • Fixed config not refreshing when "enabling" natural lunar events.
  • Fixed natural bunk events not disabling for the entierty of april, but only if they enabled as expected on the first.
  • Fixed advanced config leading to visuals pg2.
  • Fixed inconsitent config design for navigation bars.
  • Fixed dev command "Show scoreboard values" displaying to all players.
  • Fixed dev command "start event" not working at all.

Known Issues

  • Items do not apply to the Smithed Tagging Standard.
  • Phantom Spawning does not seem to work atm.
  • Some cases seem to cause cowardice not to work atm.
  • 1.21.5 is HIGHLY EXPERIMENTAL, including 100% breakage of the config. Please stop reporting it.

  • Added "Bunk Horde Sharpness", an enchantment incompatible with "Horde Sharpness".
    • This enchantment is dropped during Bunk Blood Moons, and... well... you will find out... it's not very good.

    • Gameplay Pg1 - Lunar Events
      • Moved the "interval config" line to be next to the "toggle natural events" line, and hid the "interval config" when natural lunar events are disabled.
    • Gameplay Pg3 - The Blood Ritual
      • Separated "Ritual Prep" into a new toggle.
      • Added the ability to disable Bunk Ritual Executions, but only if rituals are enabled at all.
    • Gameplay Pg4 - The Difficulty
      • Made the difficulty display more clear
  • Pity Phantom Spawning now goes up to 6000 ticks(300 seconds/5 minutes), spawning every 15 seconds you don't kill a horde mob.
    • This is because they can now be toggled separate from the cowardice mechanic, and the behavior tied to the cowardice mechanic has been preserved.
  • The Blood Ritual is no longer disabled by default.
    • The original reason it was disabled by default was to prevent spamming on servers. Now, with content locked behind the ritual, we feel it should be enabled by default.
  • Bunk Blood Moon Changes
    • Nerfed Phantom Size by 1.
    • Slightly Nerfed Mob Size.
  • You can now only earn extra Horde Slain EXP & Horde Mob Slain Advancements if you are still alive for that night.
  • Updated the Oozing effect given to creepers to have proper power levels during different lunar events.
    • These changes also attempt to mitigate a known problem, which is that the status effect can be passed onto players. The duration should no longer be infinite.

Fixes

  • Fixed one of the "Extreme" difficulty phantom levels spawning too early during Blood Moons.
  • Fixed the Phantom Nerf applied in v1.2.3 not working during Super Moons & Bunk Blood Moons.
  • Removed unnessesary data from 13 files.
  • Fixed 1.21.4 not being up to date since v1.2.3.
  • Fixed "Horde Sweep" applying to all mobs, not just recruited Horde Mobs.
  • Fixed "Horde Sweep" not having a translation fallback.
  • Fixed phantoms during the "Bunk Blood Moon" showing their custom name of "Dinnerbone".
  • Fixed overriding an already active event with a bunk ritual activation.
  • Fixed reversed check meaning that all lunar events go bunk EXCEPT on April 1st(the real april fools prank is the friends we made along the way).
  • Fix some advancements not being granted.

Known Issues

  • When Horde Creepers explode, the player can gain the Oozing Potion Effect.
    • This issue has been slightly mitigated in this update.
  • Cowardice mechanic & Phantom spawning seem to be bugged, this is being investigated.

Horde Nights v1.3.0

There will be no mod release for this version. It was kinda rushed as i got sick, allergies got record breakinglly bad, and i started a new medication making me kinda depressed. I will be pushing a hotfix for anything that remains bugged, unimplimented(config), and, if ya'll are lucky, a port to 1.21.5 on Wednesday(this may not happen if i am unhappy with the progress i make on config)

Additions

  • Added Bunk Lunar Events
    • Currently only the "Blood Moon" can go bunk.
    • Bunk Lunar Events are summoned by performing the "Blood Ritual" Incorrectly.
      • They also replace all lunar events on April 1st every year.
    • More content will be added to these bunk events every year, on April 1st.

Changes

  • Init v9
  • Manually unlock crafting recipe for the "primed diamond" when you get any component in your inventory for it.

Fixes

  • Fixed a bug that causes Festive moons to happen when they aren't supposed to if they have ever had a chance to happen before.
  • Fixed Super Moons & Festive Moons being bugged out to the point they will stop events from even happening ever. oops...
  • Fixed 1.21.2+ not being 100% up to date on the latest features(oops, legit forgot we use overlays for an update.)

Known Issues

  • Some bugs still exist in 1.21.4+, specifically with advancements. I just ran out of time to fix them.
